Title: Superfudge
Author: Judy Blume
Characters: Peter, Fudge, Mom, Dad, and Tootsie
This book is about a boy named Peter that lives in New York
and he has a little brother named Fudge.
They live in an apartment and his mom is pregnant and due to have the baby
on February 26; they named her Tootsie.
Peter does not initially like having a baby sister. He is so upset about the new baby that he
wants to move out. Peter calls his
grandma to ask if he can move in with her but she is on vacation in Boston. Then Peter asks his friend Jimmy Fargo if he
can move in with him but Jimmy`s father says no. Two weeks later Peter’s parents announce they
are moving to Princeton. Peter thinks
his parents are joking because he does not want to move. They pack up their stuff and move to
Princeton. A month later, Peter meets a
new friend named Alex Santo and they go to school together. Fudge goes to kindergarten and on the first
day of school he kicks his teacher because she calls him by his real name,
which he does not like. So Fudge gets
moved to another kindergarten class where the teacher calls him Fudge and he is
happy. Fudge also makes a new friend
named Daniel who has very bad manners.
After they live in Princeton for a year, they move back to New York and
everyone is happy. Tootsie speaks her
first words, “Nu Yuck.”
The end
I like this book because it is funny and cute and it shows
how the author is and how funny she can be.
Judy Blume has written other books like Double Fudge, Fudge-a-Mania and Sheila
the Great. I recommend you read the
books if you are age 9 to 15.
